The Cyclone 2500 Lathe

$1,250 per unit

The Cyclone 2500 is the most efficient lathe on the market, making the cleaning process easier, faster and more user-friendly.

Conventional methods of cleaning drums, PCRs and MAGs require difficult and cumbersome chucks. Incorporating a Dayton Hi-Torque motor, the Cyclone 2500 Lathe eliminates the need for chucks by using two spindles fitted with soft adjustable drivers which gently rotate your work piece. The reverse switch and variable speed control (0 - 1800 rpm) allow for optimal output.

The Cyclone 2500 Lathe was designed to be the premiere piece of cleaning equipment for the cartridge remanufacturer. It turns tedious, difficult work into a fast and smooth-running operation.

Features

  • Clean and recoat OPC drums, PCRs and MAG rollers.
  • Works with all sizes of drums and rollers, from the 1000 to the 8100.

Set-Up Tip

The photos below show how the left and right sides of each of the three rollers are correctly seated on the spindles.

Maintenance Tip

At some point you may have to replace the drive belt from the motor spindle on the lathe to the work piece drive spindles on the lathe. This is easily done.

Purchase a new belt. The belt is a vacuum cleaner belt from Hoover, part # 38528-011. This is available from Ameri-Tech Concepts or from your local vacuum cleaner repair shop.

Unscrew the knobs on the right side of the lathe on the right endplate. While holding the two spindles with your left hand, ease the plate that the two knobs unscrewed from toward the right. This will ease the two spindles away from the left side of the lathe where the belt is located. You only need to move the spindles about 2 inches to the right to create enough clearance on the left to replace the belt. See photo.

Remove the old belt and seat the new belt over the three pulleys. See photo.

Reinstall the spindles into the left-side pulleys from which they came while carefully lining up the right-side knob endplate for correct installation of the knobs. Reinstall the knobs and screw them back into place. Remember, tighten lightly. Don not over-tighten these knobs, as you will strip the threads and cause the knob endplate to be unable to hold the spindles in their proper place.
